Set up JustTickets properly.

What the bot does in Discord, what each dashboard setting changes, and how both surfaces share the same ticket configuration.

Install & invite

Add JustTickets from the homepage or your server's app directory. It requests the permissions needed to create ticket channels, apply channel overwrites, send panels, manage ticket messages, and create transcripts. It does not require Administrator; its role must be above roles it needs to add to ticket channels.

Run /setup

The /setup wizard configures staff roles, log and transcript destinations, the panel channel, and the panel's appearance. You can later edit the same configuration from the dashboard or Discord.

Categories & questions

Each category is a ticket type shown on a panel. It can define an emoji, description, Discord parent category, support roles, channel-name format, welcome message, up to five pre-ticket questions, and a per-category open-ticket limit. Archived categories stop appearing on new panels but remain in history.

Staff & permissions

Server-wide staff roles can manage every ticket. Category roles add access for that category. A panel can use its own staff-role list, replacing the server-wide list for tickets opened from that panel; category roles are still added. Blocked roles cannot open tickets.

Auto-close

Enable automatic closing with an inactivity window of at least 10 minutes and an optional warning window. JustTickets warns the opener, closes inactive tickets, generates the transcript, writes the close log, and applies post-close notifications.

Transcripts & ratings

Closing records the close reason, sends a transcript to the configured channel, and can DM the opener a transcript and custom close message. When rating DMs are enabled, the opener receives one 1-to-5 rating prompt; ratings are stored and can be sent to a ratings channel.

Working a ticket

Staff can claim or unclaim tickets, assign them, lock or unlock the opener, change priority, rename the channel, add or remove participants, write private staff notes, view ticket info, generate an on-demand transcript, and close the ticket.

Dashboard and Discord stay in sync

The dashboard administers the same guild, panel, category, blacklist, ticket, and rating records used by the bot. Saving a setting updates the configuration used for new tickets. Panel edits can re-render the live Discord panel; existing tickets keep their recorded panel and category context.

FAQ

Yes. Every JustTickets feature is included for every server; there are no paid feature tiers.

No. JustTickets is designed to work with focused permissions. Give its role permission to view channels, send messages, manage channels, and manage roles it needs to add to tickets. Keep the bot role above any support roles it must apply.

Yes. You can create multiple panels in one server and give each panel its own categories, appearance, staff override, log destinations, ratings channel, and optional Discord parent category.

JustTickets creates a private channel, applies the effective staff and participant permissions, posts the welcome message and controls, optionally mentions staff, and records the ticket in the shared database.

Configured staff can claim, assign, lock, edit, and close tickets. The opener can close their own ticket only when Allow opener to close is enabled. Close reasons can also be required.

After a ticket closes, JustTickets can DM the opener a one-to-five rating prompt. The rating is saved to the ticket, shown in the dashboard, and optionally posted to the configured ratings channel.

Yes. Panel edits and panel resends use the bot token to update the live Discord message. Server settings, categories, tickets, ratings, and blacklist entries use the same MongoDB records as the bot.

When enabled, JustTickets warns the opener before the inactivity deadline, then closes inactive tickets, generates the transcript, writes the close log, and sends any configured close notifications.
